Ongoing Updates for Programming and Events

We understand the concern around the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are developing preventive measures to better protect our community and employees. The Town Council, Town Manager, all Department Heads, as well as the Scarborough School Department are working daily to adjust Scarborough’s continued response to COVID-19. 

Please see below for up-to-date program changes and cancellations:

As of June 26

  • Challenger Soccer camps cancelled.

As of June 19:

  • Red Storm Girls and Boys Basketball cancelled.
  • Tennis Lessons Cancelled

As of June 8:

  • GPS Soccer, Edge Baseball, Big Hits Softball, and Red Storm Boys Lacrosse camps have been cancelled.

As of June 1:

  • The K-5 and 6-8 summer day camp programs have been cancelled.
  • Indoor summer specialty camps (arts, tech, theater) have been cancelled.
  • We are still evaluating which, if any, outdoor camps can run and how they would run. 

As of May 7:

  • Summerfest and Concerts in the Park events cancelled.

As of March 13:

  • Before-school and after-school programs are cancelled for the remainder of the school year.
  • All senior programming has been cancelled until further notice.
  • All other Community Services youth programming, including indoor soccer, lacrosse, softball pitching clinic, spring basketball training, youth wrestling, and ultimate frisbee have been cancelled. If the program has already started, you can expect a prorated refund for the missed time. If the program has not started, you will be issued a full refund.
  • All Community Services adult programming, including healthline and pickleball, have been suspended until further notice. 
  • The Annual Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for April 3-4 has been cancelled.


As this situation is evolving we will be providing periodic updates to the Town website (http://www.scarboroughmaine.org/home/scarborough-coronavirus-covid-19-information), as well as our other information channels. Please continue to be vigilant with your own personal health by following the recommendations and best practices from the CDC.
