Senior Programs

Senior Programs are opportunities for anyone age 55 or older to engage and socialize with fellow participants through an array of active, activity-oriented, and fun programming. These are offered year-round and rotate on a seasonal basis. Programs are available nearly every weekday. All program details can be viewed in the seasonal brochure.

Drop-In Qigong

Qigong is an ancient branch of Traditional Chinese medicine that combines gentle movement, breathwork and visualization to open and balance the energy channels in the body. Medical Qigong promotes mental and physical health, balance and vitality and is especially beneficial as we age. All ages and levels welcome; no prior experience or equipment needed. Instructor: Megan Dolan.

Scarborough School's Senior Citizen Appreciation Dinner

Get together and get a peek inside what the Scarborough School District has been up to! Enjoy a dinner prepared by the nutrition department and served by students. Watch some live performances from various school clubs, admire work and achievements on display, and enter to win some raffles! Open to those 65 and older. Dinner served at 4:30. Meal choices are baked chicken with rice OR baked ziti with meatballs.

Musicians Circle

Do you play guitar, fiddle, ukulele, or another musical instrument? Do you like to sing? Are you looking for someone to jam with? Join Ron and Sherri Aube for a musicians circle! All levels are welcome. Please bring your own instruments, music, and stands. No registration required.

Partner Programs

All-Ages Board Game Nights at Scarborough Public Library

Scarborough Community Services is partnering with the Scarborough Public Library to continue offering these new and popular all-ages board game nights! Grab your family or friends and head to the library on the 3rd Friday of each month. What a great way to try something new, get out of the house, and have some good old-fashioned fun! Snacks and refreshments provided.

Registration can be over the phone (call 730-4150) using a debit or credit card (you may need to leave a message and wait for a return call). Or, stop by the SCS Hub at 418 Payne Road, Scarborough between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Senior Programs are all based out of the Community Services Hub at 418 Payne Road, Scarborough (unless otherwise noted).
