Fireworks can be used in Scarborough during restricted times on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The ordinance is below.

Please be courteous to your neighbors and stay within the allowed times. Also be aware that some people with PTSD can be triggered with fireworks. If you know of a combat veteran in your area, or see a sign alerting neighbors, please check with them before setting anything off.

If you will be using fireworks we recommend having a water hose on and ready just in case.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
More pets go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year.
This may be a stressful few days for your furry friends. Create a safe haven for you pets in a sheltered, escape-proof part of your home. Make sure they have plenty of fresh water. Turning on the TV or radio can help drown out the noise.
Keep your doors and windows shut, and make sure anyone coming or going knows to leave your pets inside the home. Just in case they do get out, please make sure they are wearing an ID or are microchipped. If your pet is especially fearful you may want to try a "Thundershirt", or a pet stress diffuser, your vet can also help with additional tips.
