The Importance of Trash & Recycle Cart Placement: A Reminder

posted Nov 30, 2018, 5:36 AM by Leona Oceania
It is very important that trash and recycle carts are placed correctly (especially this time of year) to ensure effective and efficient trash pick up. As a reminder: carts should be place two feet apart from one another; this enables the arms on the truck to pick up each cart as it needs to. If they are placed too close together, you run the risk of the truck not picking up your carts. Also, particularly this time of year, be sure to place your carts in your driveway, a bit back from the road. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE YOUR CARTS IN THE ROADWAYS. Carts placed in the roadways during the snow season risk being hit by snowplows, etc. The arms on the trash truck are designed to reach 10-12 feet, so having your carts sit back in your driveway a bit (two feet apart from each other!) is ideal.
