POSTED ROADS UPDATE: 3.12.19 - 3.13.19

All posted road restrictions are in effect all day TODAY, Tuesday, March 12th, 2019.

However, TOMORROW (Wednesday, March 13th, 2019) all roads may be traveled by all vehicles until 10:00 AM. After 10:00 AM, all road posting restrictions will be back in effect. This will likely be the ONLY DAY THIS WEEK that restrictions will be lifted, so please plan accordingly.

POSTED ROADS - List and Information

As of March 11th, 2019, the list of posted roads has been approved and put into effect. Until further notice, any vehicle weighing over 23,000 lbs will not be allowed access on a posted road. 

For consideration of an exception for road use, please contact David Pinkham at 730-4410. All exceptions need to be approved by Mr. Pinkham, and will be based on a variety of considerations, inclusive of temperature and road conditions - which will be evaluated daily.

UPDATE ON BROADTURN RD PAVING SCHEDULE

Due to unforeseen circumstances, paving work on Broadturn Road has been rescheduled for:                                                                              Friday, August 25th  -  Monday, August 28th  -  Tuesday, August 29th                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Please plan accordingly!

 

ROAD RECLAMATION & PAVING SCHEDULE 8/17 thru 08/25

     Pike Industries will be in Scarborough this week and next week to reclaim and pave roads.  This schedule is subject to change due to weather so check back from time to time.  If the schedule changes we will update our postings.

AUGUST 17:  Broadturn Rd and Martin Ave   Both roads will be reclaimed. The end result will be gravel-like material and the roads will stay this way until the following week.  Martin Ave is scheduled first and work will start at 7:00 am.  Broadturn Rd work will not start before 8:30 am but will last all day.  Alternate routes of travel are encouraged during this time.

AUGUST 18:  Woodside Drive  Scheduled for reclamation.  The end result will be a gravel-like material that will remain until the following week.

AUGUST 21:  Broadturn Road, Pine Point Road, Martin Ave  Paving & grading will occur.  Work will not start on Broadturn Road prior to 8:30 am but will continue into the early evening.  Alternate routes of travel are encouraged. 

AUGUST 22:  Broadturn Road and Martin Ave  Paving is scheduled to be completed. 


AUGUST 23:  Woodside Drive  Grading & paving scheduled all day.


AUGUST 24 & 25:  Both Days may be used to finish any work not done on prior days because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Thank you for your patience and safe driving while this work is performed.  Alternate routes are recommended during this time if possible.








Soil Test Borings Scheduled on Gorham Road June 27-30

Soil test borings are scheduled on Gorham Road June 27-30.  The work is scheduled to start at 8:30 am daily and
will be located between Hannaford Drive and Maple Ave.Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. 
This work is being done as part of a utility pipeline process.

Eight Corners, Gorham Rd PAVING POSTPONED

GORHAM RD, EIGHT CORNERS AREA: PAVING JUNE 20 -JUNE 21

PAVING is scheduled in the Eight Corners Area of Gorham Rd on Tuesday, June 20th and Wednesday, June 21st.

 Expect traffic delays due to alternating single-lane traffic and detours.  Please seek
 alternate routes of travel during this period.

GORHAM ROAD PAVING - STARTING ON THURSDAY, JUNE 8TH

      Thursday, June 8th and Friday, June 9th:  8:30 am - 5:00 pm        Saturday, June 10th:  7:00 am - Mid to Late Afternoon

WORK LOCATION:  Section of Gorham Road from Maple Ave to Payne Road(approximate).

There will be some detours and alternating one-way traffic.  We highly recommend that motorists seek alternate routes during this time.
We appreciate your patience and safe driving throughout the construction period.

Please be advised that this work is WEATHER DEPENDENT.

Maine Department of Transportation to be Working in Scarborough

Time Period:  March 2017 - October 2017

M.D.O.T. crews will begin drainage and other road work in Scarborough and South Portland on Monday, March 20th.   The project is located .03 of a mile north of Route 701 (Scarborough Connector) and ends .03 of a mile south of Memory Lane in South Portland.

The project consists of utility improvement work including water and gas main installation.  Other work includes the installation of a new drainage pipe, manholes and catch basins.  Crews will also perform sidewalk improvements then milling and paving the roadway.

Work will take place during the day, with nighttime hours dependent on work activities and location.  Motorists should expect slight delays.  RJ Grondin & Sons of Gorham will perform this $3.4 million project.
