Backyard Composting: Jump Start Your Garden and Save Money While Healing the Earth

Did you realize that approximately 28% of Scarborough's waste stream is compostable organics?  This represents about 2,200
tons of material that could be enriching your garden and soil.  Why buy fertilizer or compost, when you can make it for free?  Come if you're a beginner or experienced composter who wants to gain valuable tips and insights into the whys, what's and how-tos of creating your own compost, "Nature's black gold".  This is a free public forum sponsored by the Town of Scarborough Conservation Commission, with co-sponsorship and presentations from Kitchen Gardeners International, WormMainea, The State of Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and the Environmental Club of Scarborough.
