Join Us for Free Fitness Summer Series this Month!

Thanks to the support of Martin's Point Healthcare in Scarborough, we are able to offer a new active summer series in conjunction with our Parks & Recreation 
Month celebrations. All ages and abilities are welcome to join us for these free fun fitness sessions in Memorial Park:

July 10: Zumba -- 6:00 to 7:00 pm

Come celebrate Parks and Rec Month with Community Services and Zumba Instructor Dani by getting your groove on in Memorial Park! Zumba combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using principles from aerobic and fitness to achieve cardio and muscle-toning benefits.  Not great at dance or can’t move quickly? No problem! All ages and abilities are welcome, as every move can be modified to fit your needs. Dani can’t wait to share her passion for this fun fitness program with everyone!


July 17: #GameOn Field Day -- 4:30 to 6:00 pm

Come celebrate Parks and Rec Month with the Scarborough Community Services squad! SCS will be #GameOn at Memorial Park with an afternoon full of fun activities, such as soccer, volleyball, pickleball, bocce ball, corn hole, croquet, frisbee, and more! All ages and abilities are welcome! #WeAreSCS #GameOnJuly


July 24: Yoga -- 6:00 to 7:15 pm

Come celebrate Parks and Rec Month with Community Services and Scarborough Yoga’s Kristine Keegan with a blissful yoga practice in Memorial Park! We will lay surrounded by the beauty of nature to nurture and balance our mind and body with breath work and movement. This all-levels class will open the space we need within to release stress and open ourselves to flow with the rhythm of our own lives. Plus it will be fun! Perfect for the beginner yogi and advanced. Items you may want to bring: yoga mat, towel, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, bug repellent, and a friend! See you on your mat!


July 29: Back to Basics Fitness Class -- 6:00 to 6:45 pm

Want to get healthy and start an exercise routine but unsure where to begin? Join Community Services and Certified Personal Trainer Kristi O’Donnell as they get BACK TO BASICS. This class involves total body movements specific to increasing your heart rate and developing muscular strength. Being active and following a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be complicated! Please bring a beach-size towel as some exercises will be taking place on the ground.
