Reopening of Municipal Offices

The Town of Scarborough will reopen municipal buildings and outdoor public spaces following the guidance of the State of Maine. While

we wait to hear the specifics of that guidance there are a few items we can share confidently. Upon our reopening, in either late May or on June 1st, and through July 31, 2020, the Town Hall will be open to the public during the following hours:

Monday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Wednesday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

This reduction in hours is needed to accommodate the significant reduction in staff hours that has been adopted to secure budget savings. We recognize that the COVID-19 crisis has left many in Scarborough economically uncertain and we are working diligently to find the right balance between meeting the service needs in our community and keeping the upcoming year’s tax rate reasonable.

Our maintenance staff is working now to install plexiglass barriers at all of our service counters. They are also re-configuring public areas to allow for proper social distancing. We encourage residents to wear face coverings while conducting business and ask that you please use the hand sanitizing stations located outside of our service offices before conducting your business.

Please stay tuned for updates, we will announce when we will be opening to the public by posting to our website, sharing on facebook, and on SCTV channel1302.
