Town Files Stormwater Discharge Notice of Intent

Please take note that the Town of Scarborough has filed a Notice of Intent (NOI) to comply with the General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Small Municipal Storm Sewer Systems. The Town has filed the NOI with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).  

The application is for the discharge of stormwater from the Town’s separated storm sewer system to the following waters:
  • Phillips Brook
  • Mill Brook
  • Nonesuch River
  • Libby River
  • Spurwink River
  • Scarborough River
  • Jones Creek
  • Casco Bay
  • Saco Bay
  • Massacre Pond
The NOI was filed on July 15,2013. The NOI and the General Permit are available for public inspection at DEP’s Augusta office during normal business hours. A copy may also be seen at the municipal offices of the Town of Scarborough. Public comment will be accepted until a final administrative action is taken to approve, approve with conditions or deny this application.
