Tuesday, February 28th, Special Municipal Election Information

Absentee Ballots are now available at Town Hall in the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours. You may

request an absentee ballot by completing the Application for an Absentee Ballot form below and mail to the Scarborough Town Clerk's Office at P.O. Box 360, Scarborough, ME 04070-0360 or the voter can contact the Town Clerk's Office at 730-4020 to make their request for an absentee ballot to be mailed to them. The deadline to order absentee ballots is Thursday, February 23, 2017, by 4:00 p.m.

 

Starting Friday, February 24, 2017 and including Monday, February 27, 2017, the Voter must complete a Special Circumstance Application [see below] stating one of the four reasons:


                    An unexpected absence from the municipality during the entire time the polls are open on election day;

                    A physical disability,

                    An inability to travel to the polls because the voter is a resident of a coastal island ward or precinct; or

                    An incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being unable to leave home or a treatment facility.


 This special circumstances application must be signed by the voter.  NOTE:  The deadline for returning absentee ballots has not changed. 


Voting will take place at the Municipal Building, located at 259 U.S. Route One on Election Day, Tuesday, February 28, 2017, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For further information on Absentee Voting and Voter Registration, please contact the Scarborough Town Clerk's Office at 730‑4020.
