Fiscal Year 2017 Tax Commitment

The Fiscal Year 2017 Commitment of taxes is complete, with a Commitment Date of September 1, 2016.  The new property tax
rate is $15.92, which is an increase of 2.78% over last year's tax rate of $15.49.

The 2017 Total Valuation for the Town increased over $55 million from 2016, with a new Total Valuation of $3,845,320,400.

On May 18, 2016 the tax rate was forecast to be $15.98, and the final tax rate of $15.92 is six cents less than originally forecast at the time of budget adoption.

The impact on a $300,000 home would result in a 2017 property tax of $4,776, which is $129 more than 2016, or $2.48 per week.
