Updated changes to FEMA's preliminary maps on the town website,  http://www.scarboroughmaine.org/departments/public-works/webgis. Simply select the map
labeled "FEMA Maps". At the top of the screen in the blue ribbon, there will be a search box where you can type in your address to automatically bring you to the location on the map. Next to the search box, there is a layer list icon that when selected, will allow You to choose between 3 layers: FEMA Current, FEMA Preliminary, and FEMA Preliminary Appeal. The FEMA preliminary and preliminary appeal layers are selected by default, but can be unchecked to see only one of the layers at a time. The appeal maps show what effect a successful appeal by the Town may have on the preliminary (proposed) FEMA maps.

This is a useful tool for those that would like to know whether the appeal will have any effect on their future status with regard to the regulatory floodplain.
