Update on April 25th Public Hearing

Due to concerns about a limit of 130 persons for tonight’s public hearings the Council Chair, Fire Chief, Police Chief, Fire Inspector and Assistant

Town Manager met yesterday to discuss options that would increase capacity of Council Chambers. By rearranging the layout of the room and including Fire Department staff on site during the hearings the capacity has been increased to 160 people. To assure compliance with the capacity, the Fire Inspector and a Police Officer will be counting people at the front doors of the Town Hall as people come in. The Town Hall doors will open, as per usual, 30 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled meeting. For tonight that is 5:30. When capacity is reached no additional people will be allowed to enter the Town Hall. In order to accommodate as many people as possible the Council Chambers will have chairs at the front of the room and standing room at the back. If you are able to stand please leave the chairs for residents that are not able to do so.

Members of the public that wish to submit written comments that respond to the stated reason for recall of incompetence to be read into the record can do so in two ways:

  1. Drop off written comment to the Town Clerk’s office by 4:00 pm today, Wednesday April 25, 2018.

  2. Email your written comment to the Assistant Town Manager by 5:00 pm today, Wednesday April 25, 2018 at

All germane written comment received by these deadlines will be read aloud at the public hearing by the Assistant Town Manager. Any germane written comment submitted that would exceed the three minute limit will be read until the three minute time limit has been reached.
