FY2018 Budget Adopted

posted May 19, 2017, 8:02 AM by Kate Bolton   [ updated May 19, 2017, 8:06 AM ]
The full FY2018 Town budget was passed unanimously on Wednesday, May 17, by the Town Council.  The School Board made final amendments to the Education portion of the budget at their meeting on Thursday, May 18, again unanimously supporting the changes agreed to by the Town Council the night before.  Council and Board members expressed appreciation for the collaborative process and thoughtful work involved in creating this budget, and the difficult choices made to arrive at the best possible balance of outcomes for our community.

Attached is the revised tax rate computation page showing the final approved amounts for all sections of the Town budget, along with a one-page summary provided at the May 17 Town Council meeting. For more details on the changes made between first reading and final adoption of the budget, please see the previous post (May 11, 2017).

Next on the calendar is the voter referendum on the School K-12 operating budget, which will take place on Tuesday, June 13, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm at Town Hall.  Absentee ballots are already available for your convenience.  For more information about voting, please go to:

or contact the Scarborough Town Clerk's Office at 730‑4020.  We appreciate the public's interest and support through the budget process so far, and encourage you to come out and vote!
