Winter Preparation Tips

Here are a few reminders from our Public Works department that go hand in hand with the upcoming arrival of the winter season.

Public Meeting: Spurwink Road Project (June 29, 6:00pm)

Attend the Public Meeting on June 29 to learn more about the Spurwink Road Traffic & Pedestrian Improvement Project. The presentation will include the findings of the planning and design phase, overall project goals, and a proposed timeline. Residents are encouraged to provide feedback.

Free Yard Waste Disposal for Residents

Summer weekends are a busy time for yard work! A friendly reminder that Scarborough residents have access to free disposal of grass clippings, leaves, and small amounts of household brush at the Casella Transfer Station in Westbrook.

Gorham Road Pipeline Replacement

Unitil Corporation will be replacing 3,000 feet of steel pipe along Gorham Road between the Nonesuch River near Ridgeway Road and Maple Avenue in Scarborough, Maine as part of a coordinated effort with the Scarborough Sanitary District and the Town of Scarborough. They will begin the natural gas pipeline work on March 28th and the work is expected to last three months.
