Planning Board
About
The Scarborough Planning Board reviews new residential, commercial and industrial development, as well as in many cases the redevelopment of existing uses, in accordance with the Site Plan Review and Subdivision Review Ordinances. Further, when amendments to land use regulations are proposed to the Town Council, the Planning Board reviews the amendments, conducts a public hearing and makes recommendations to the Town Council regarding these regulations. The Planning Board also plays an integral role in the review and approval of Contract Zones.

2024 Meetings
The Planning Board will be moving to a once per month meeting schedule beginning January 2024. The Planning Board meetings will be held on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 pm in Council Chambers, unless otherwise stated.
2024 PLANNING BOARD DEVELOPMENT CALENDAR
Moving to once per month instead of a rolling three-week cycle will provide staff and applicants additional time needed to hold a Development Review Committee (DRC) meeting to go over review comments together before they are forwarded to the Planning Board.

Planning Board Applications
Electronic submissions can be emailed to Eric Sanderson on or before the required deadline. Hard copy submissions are still required. Payments for applications can be made either by check (mailed or placed in the submission packet). Other methods of payment can be discussed with Staff.
