Scarborough "Summer Outdoors" Photo Contest!

 

Outdoors is the place to be this summer in Scarborough—its parks, nature preserves, and beaches provide the perfect setting for the season. We want to see these spaces through your lens. Snap photos while you're out enjoying scenery or time with family, and share with us for a chance to win a gift card from a variety of Scarborough businesses!

Vote for Your Favorites

This was a very well documented summer for Scarborough! We received over 250 submissions to our "Summer Outdoors" photo contest in categories ranging from beaches to wildlife.

Now it's time to VOTE! 'Like' your favorites in the photo album from now through September 14. No limit to how many likes you give out—spread the compliments! The photo with the most Likes in each category will be announced in our September 15th email newsletter and win local prizes. Thanks to Highland Farm, Oak Hill Ace Hardware, The Dairy Corner, Scarborough Grounds, Nonesuch River Brewing, and Dunstan Tap & Table for the gift certificates.

How to Submit

Submissions closed on August 27— time to vote for your favorites! Upload up to three photos with a title and caption (optional). Remember, they must be taken in Scarborough and outdoors to qualify! For each photo, select which category to enter it into:

Photos will be uploaded to Facebook on a rolling basis. The photo with the most 'Likes' in each category will win a prize— a gift card from a Scarborough business! Enter early for a higher chance at more 'Likes', and share your favorites. Thank you to Scarborough Grounds, Dunstan Tap & Table, Oak Hill Ace Hardware, Highland Farm, The Dairy Corner, and Nonesuch River Brewing for the gift card donations.

Contest Timeline

The Scarborough "Summer Outdoors" Photo Contest will run from July 1-August 27, 2023. All eligible photos submitted during this time will be uploaded into the Photo Contest Album on our Facebook page on a rolling basis. Then, let the voting period begin! The voting period will run from August 28-September 14. The photo with the most "likes" in each category at the end of the voting period will win a gift card to local businesses. "Like" any photos in the album any time up until final counts are tallied on September 14. Winners will be announced in our September 15, 2023 Town Newsletter (sign up here if you're not already subscribed!) and emailed directly.

Contest Rules

• All photographs that you submit must be your own work and you must own the rights to distribute the entry.
• Any entry including a recognizable individual must receive consent from the individual.
• All photographs must be entered in a specific category.
• No more than three total submissions per participant.
• By adding your entry to the photo contest, the Town of Scarborough assumes the right to use your entry for any promotional purposes.
• Judging will be based on Facebook engagement (most "Likes" in each category), at the final discretion of the Town of Scarborough.

All photos must be original work, taken by the entrants. Photos must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person. Entries must be submitted via the official contest channel. By entering the contest, entrants agree that photos submitted may be used by the Town of Scarborough for promotional purposes and that there is consent from all identifiable photographed individuals.

Submissions will be accepted from July 1, 2023 to August 27, 2023. The Town of Scarborough has final discretion on all entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not conform to stated contest rules. Winners will be determined by most "Likes" on Facebook album entry, at the final discretion of the Town of Scarborough. The winner will be contacted via the email address provided during entry. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
